UPDATE: Return Process

As mentioned in a previous blog post we had issues with the screen on our first Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and had to return it to Amazon.com. We sent it back on August 30th and Amazon confirmed that they received it on September 5th. By September 7th Amazon.com had issued a full refund. This process was by far one of the easiest returns we have had to do, especially with an expensive electronics item.

We have decided to purchase another 32 GB Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, but this time from Best Buy just for a change. Best Buy does not seem to have as easy of a returns policy, but hopefully there are not any problems with this tablet so we won't have to test it.

Since the unfortunate demise of our first tablet has set us back a little expect to see application reviews on The Android Library by the end of next week! Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE: Problems with Samsung Tablet

Unfortunately, after only two weeks of regular use, the screen on our Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 started to malfunction. Grey and colored lines began appearing across the screen and the distorted image of the screen would move up and down making it nearly impossible to navigate anything. Occasionally it would clear itself up for a few minutes, but would eventually revert back to the lines and movement.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Screen Malfunction

After trying to research the problem we were unable to find any other Samsung tablets with the same problem, so we have determined it must be a manufacturing flaw because the tablet had been used normally and there were no obvious reasons or damage to the tablet that would cause such a problem. For these reasons we have decided to return the tablet to Amazon.com for a refund.

We will provide updates about the return process and hope to be able to buy a new tablet in a few weeks. We have decided that this issue we have had does not alter the original review or rating we gave the device earlier, however, we will keep this in mind and look out for it if we decide to buy another Samsung tablet in the future.
